Bee Ornament

Brian from Seattle, WA saw our ornaments at the Alki Art Show and contacted us about making a bee ornament that he could give to his friends as Christmas gifts.

After one sample ornament, we created another version that Brian liked.

In Vino Veritas Coaster Set

Sarah from Pasadena, CA wanted a coaster set for a red room in her house. She liked our "In Vino Veritas" plate and asked if we could make a set of coasters similar to that plate.

We were able to miniaturize the plate into four coasters.

Salmon Deck Hanging

Rochelle from Cordova, AK was looking for a sturdy and a weather proof decoration for her newly build deck. She wanted it to be able to withstand harsh weather conditions and have a salmon theme, preferably with a copper salmon since she lives on the Copper river. What we created for her was this 15 inches long hanging with a copper embossed salmon fused between two layers of glass. Fused into glass are two 19 gauge high temperature wire hooks. Click on the photo to your left to see the hanging during various stages of its creation.

Orchid Trivet

Betsy from Seattle, WA wanted a custom orchid in glass as a gift for her husband, who is a professional orchid grower. The orchid is paph. venustum album "Isaac Bela" and is named after their son. I found that the intricate lined of this particular orchid were best portrayed by embossing it in copper and fusing it into the background with color variations of the actual flower.

Shark Suncatcher

Karen from California, MD was looking for a shark suncatcher for her son. She wanted to give him a Christmas present that he could take with him into his adulthood. We cut out a fiber blanket mold, filled it with glass chunks and fired it in our kiln. After the first firing, we smoothed out the edges on a grinder, added a black eyeball and fired it one more time. She liked the finished piece and hopes that her son will like it as well.
